map playa rinconIt has approximately 2.5 km. long and is surrounded by thick and unique vegetation. Its waters are turquoise, crystal clear and calm. Its white sand blends with the green of the grass. At its eastern end you will find several restaurants that offer fresh fish of the day, lobsters and other dishes of Dominican cuisine. While at the other end of the beach, on the west side, you will find a beautiful stream, called Caño Frío, where you can take a refreshing dip in fresh water, while you wait for the food prepared in any of the “dining rooms” installed there. The beach is quite wild, still without construction, but it is well known and loved. On Sundays and holidays, especially at Easter, it is usually very lively.
To get to this paradise you have to take the road that goes from Santa Bárbara de Samaná to Las Galeras and turn left about 10 kilometers before Las Galeras. The path, signposted by the classic Brugal sign, starts paved to continue, after a few kilometers, with the typical red earth of the area. Depending on the weather it may be in poor condition, we advise you to do the excursion on a motorcycle or off-road car. They will cross the towns of La Colmena, Los Tocones and, finally, Rincón from where the sight on this bay of unforgettable colors will thrill you.
Another alternative to get to Playa Rincón is to rent a boat from Las Galeras.
