Who are we?

The  people of Samana are from a diverse background, from emigres from the Canary Islands in 1756, black Americans immigrated beginning in 1824,  settlers from Spain in 1961, and many other people that have come and join us adding to our diversity by embracing our city. eventhough we are well know for the “Samana amrican” community that speak english there is also a comunity of french/haitian taht speak patua (broken french). but we all speak spanish the official language.
