Salto el Limón

Also inland, the Samaná peninsula will surprise you with its spectacular El Limón Waterfall, one of the key excursions on the peninsula. Surrounded by tropical forest, more than 300 meters above sea level, the waterfall is nestled between the three hills that make up the Sierra de Samaná.

The goal of an unforgettable excursion, both on foot and on horseback, the excursion lasts approximately 45 minutes. During the tour they will be able to observe cocoa, coffee, pineapple, mango, avocado, etc. as well as different houses built with wood from Palma Real (protected by the authorities) and painted in bright colors.

The jump (as the natives call it) with its mossy walls is of great natural beauty. It is more than 40 meters high and offers a show that will leave you speechless, a true temple of nature! In the small lake formed by the waters of the waterfall, it is possible to bathe, although we recommend caution. You will be able to observe (and photograph) the children of the area jumping, one after the other, from the high rocks, exhibiting themselves in incredible tricks.

The excursion is normally done on horseback and includes a walk to the waterfall and, on return, a good typical Creole meal in one of the ranches in the town.
