Playa Jackson

Located at the western end of the Samaná peninsula, Jackson is a deserted beach of golden sand still uncontaminated and wild. Its turquoise waters hide thousands of colorful fish, snorkeling here is a real pleasure.

On the beach there is an old abandoned hut, normally used by visitors to make a base and prepare a small picnic. From Jackson you can walk, without interruption, to La Majagua, or simply reach a small river. Don’t forget your camera!

Being surrounded by a rock cliff, it can only be reached by boat or on foot. There are different agencies that organize the boat excursion. Visit our section “How to organize your excursions” to contact them directly.

If you decide to walk there, you should leave early because the journey will take around 2.30 h. The path leaves from Punta El Subidero (west end of Playa Cosón) and continually descends and rises on small hills, offering beautiful views over the sea or local vegetation. We recommend hiring a guide.
